## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS WORKED ON BY A CIVILIAN MECHANIC OVER THE WEEKEND AND THE PILOT DEPARTED VFR ON TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2005, ENROUTE NACODOCHES, TX. SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, ENGINE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH AGAIN AND THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND AT LEESVILLE AIRPORT, LEESVILLE, LA. DURING APPROACH FOR LANDING, ENGINE FAILED COMPLETELY AND PILOT WAS FORCED TO LAND IN A FIELD, ONE TO TWO MILES SHORT OF THE AIRPORT. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO ONE OF THE WHEEL PANTS AND THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
