## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 11, 2005, N311V A CESSNA 310-C DEPARTED RAY COMMUNITY AIRPORT (57D) PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AFTER TAKEOFF THE AIRCRAFT STALLED AND CRASHED IN A NEARBY FIELD. PHYSICAL EVIDENCE GATHERED FROM THE INVESTIGATION HAS DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT ENGINE WAS NOT PRODUCING POWER AT THE TIME OF IMPACT WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR FOR THE AIRCRAFT TO STALL. THE INVESTIGATION HAS ALSO DETERMINED THAT THE RIGHT ENGINE WAS PRODUCING POWER AT THE TIME OF IMPACT. NTSB HAS REQUESTED BOTH ENGINE PROPELLERS TO BE INSPECTED BY HARTZELL PROPELLER AND BOTH ENGINE MAGNETOS (FOUR TOTAL) BE INSPECTED BY TELEDYNE CONTINENTAL MOTORS. NOTE: THE PILOT LOG BOOK BELONGING TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ WAS DESTROYED IN THE POST FIRE. NO FLIGHT TIMES AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI05LA140](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI05LA140), Jun 11, 2005: Cessna 310C (N311V), Ray, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of power on the left engine for undetermined reasons and the flightcrew's failure to maintain aircraft control following the loss of power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
