## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT BEING CONDUCTED AT THE TERRE HAUTE AIRPORT (HUF) WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 32 WITH THE WINDS OUT OF THE WEST GUSTING TO 24 KNOTS. INSTRUCTOR STATED THAT DURING THE "FLAIR" THE AIRCRAFT "BALLOONED" AND THE INSTRUCTOR ATTEMPTED TO ASSIST HIS STUDENT. THE AIRCRAFT DROPPED HARD, BOUNCING BACK INTO THE AIR. ON THE SECOND AND THIRD BOUNCE THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK ITS NOSE GEAR FIRST CAUSING THE NOSE GEAR TO FAIL AND CAUSING A PROPELLER STRIKE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
