## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 06/17/2005, AT 1540 LOCAL, A MESA (U.S. AIRWAYS) JET, N854MJ, WAS PARKED ON THE MAIN RAMP OF NORFOLK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, GATE 8. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED FROM CHARLOTTE AT 1453 LOCAL AND WAS DUE TO RETURN TO CHARLOTTE AT 1532. A TUG OPERATOR, EMPLOYED BY FLIGHT SERVICES SYSTEMS, A U.S. AIRWAYS CONTRACTOR, WAS PULLING A BAGGAGE CART UP TO THE AIRCRAFT IN PREPARATION FOR DEPARTURE WHEN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TUG CANOPY STRUCK THE TIP OF THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT WING CAUSING DAMAGE LIMITED TO THE WING TIP. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS FERRIED TO A MAIN MAINTENANCE BASE FOR REPAIR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
