## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT HAD NOT FLOWN IN 90 DAYS. WHILE ATTEMPTING THE FIRST LANDING OF THIS FLIGHT, THE PILOT STATED THAT HE FLARED TOO HIGH, AT AN ALTITUDE NOW ESTIMATED TO BE 15 TO 20 FEET ABOVE THE RUNWAY. WHEN HE WAS AT AN EXTREMELY SLOW AIRSPEED, HE LOWERED THE NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE. THE AIRPLANE CONTACTED THE RUNWAY ON THE MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE AIRPLANE ULTIMATELY CAME TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY. THE DAMAGE DONE TO THE AIRPLANE DUE TO THE HARD LANDING WAS CONFINED TO THE CENTER SECTION OF THE WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL05CA119](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL05CA119), Jun 19, 2005: Globe GC-1B (N10KS), Athens, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
