## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING DESCENT INTO A FIELD THAT WAS BEING SPRAYED THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED TURBULENCE AND SETTLED INTO THE TOP WIRE OF A 3 STRING POWER LINE CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO SLOW AND YAW SIDEWAYS PRIOR TO RELEASING FROM THE POWER LINE WHEN A POWER POLE BROKE OFF. THE AIRSPEED HAD DECAYED TO A POINT WHERE THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO RECOVER. THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED FROM SIDE LOADING AND THE WING STRUCK THE GROUND FOLLOWED BY THE LEFT GEAR AND WING COLLAPSING. THE ENGINE BROKE FREE OF THE FIREWALL WHEN IT IMPACTED THE GROUND CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO SPIN 540 DEGREES AND SLID TO A STOP. NO INJURIES OTHER THAN A BRUISED FOREARM WERE REPORTED. MINIMAL PROPERTY DAMAGE HAD OCCURRED BUT THE AIRCRAFT HAD MAJOR DAMAGE TO ALL OF ITS COMPONENTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05CA132](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05CA132), Jun 25, 2005: Weatherly 620B (N2021V), Teton, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from power transmission lines while maneuvering.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
