## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 30, 2005, N76978, A CESSNA AIRCRAFT MODEL CE-140 AIRCRAFT WAS PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AT CARLBAD AIRPORT, SAN DIEGO, CA (CRQ). FOLLOWING THE LAST LANDING THE PILOT STATED HE LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. ATTEMPTING TO REGAIN CONTROL HE APPLIED TOO MUCH BRAKE, WHICH RESULTED IN A NOSE OVER AND PROP STRIKE. NO OTHER AIRCRAFT DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED, AND THE PILOT AND INSTRUCTOR WERE NOT INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
