## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER AIRCRAFT ROTATION THE RIGHT ENGINE LOST POWER CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO YAW AND ROLL TO THE RIGHT. THIS CONDITION WAS AGGRAVATED DUE TO FULL RIGHT RUDDER TRIM THAT HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY SET. THE PILOT PUSHED THE NOSE OVER CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO IMPACT THE GROUND AT A RELATIVE LEVEL ATTITUDE. POST IMPACT FIRE CONSUMED LEFT ENGINE AND WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL05LA118](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL05LA118), Jun 30, 2005: Piper PA-31P (N4200N), Fort Payne, AL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power due to the failure of the aft clamp connecting the turbocharger compressor outlet to the intercooler ducting which resulted in reduced aircraft performance during takeoff.

## Other reports on N4200N (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19911013052259I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19911013052259I), Oct 13, 1991: Piper PA31P (N4200N), Eureka, CA, Minor damage. On a go around pilot allowed propeller to strike runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
