## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT LANDING WAS LONG (LAST 1000') ON A WET 3148' ASPHALT POORLY MAINTAINED RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT, WITH FULL BRAKES APPLIED CONTINUED OFF THE END OF RUNWAY 8, TRAVELED AN ADDITIONAL 50' DOWN A 30 DEGREE EMBANKMENT WHERE THE NOSE GEAR ENTERED A HOLE AND WAS BROKEN OFF. ENGINE HAD SUDDEN STOPPAGE WHEN THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND AFTER THE GEAR COLLAPSED. AIRCRAFT DAMAGE INCLUDED THE SHEARING OFF OF THE NOSE GEAR, SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LOWER ENGINE FIREWALL, TUNNEL, AND LOWER ENGINE COWLING. A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THE POOR CONDITION OF THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL05CA124](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL05CA124), Jul 2, 2005: Cessna 182P (N9133M), Lanett, AL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudgment of speed and distance, and his failure to do a go around. A factor was the wet runway.

## Other reports on N9133M (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19860423025059I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19860423025059I), Apr 23, 1986: Cessna 182P (N9133M), Atlanta, GA, Minor damage. Made a hard landing resulting in a blown nose tire and damage to nose strut.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
