## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON FINAL APPROACH TO THE EL DORADO AIRPORT (KEQA), KANSAS WITH TWO OCCUPANTS ON BOARD. TRAFFIC TAXIED ONTO RUNWAY AND THE MISHAP PILOT ELECTED TO GO AROUND. WITNESSES STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP SHARPLY AND BANKED SHARPLY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ALLOWED TO SLOW WHILE MANEUVERING, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF AIRCRAFT CONTROL. WITNESSES STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT "PANCAKED IN" FROM APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI05LA171](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI05LA171), Jul 2, 2005: Yonchak Skybolt (N112MK), El Dorado, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airspeed while maneuvering in the traffic pattern which resulted in an inadvertent stall. A factor was the low altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
