## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN FROM AUSTIN, TX (KAUS) TO NORMAN, OK (KOUN) ON 07/06/2005. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING TO THE NORTH ON RUNWAY 3 AND TOUCHED DOWN APPROXIMATELY 1700 FEET FROM THE APPROACH END. WITNESSES STATED THE NOSE GEAR HIT HARD FIRST AND THEN THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING SLAMMED HARD INTO THE RUNWAY, THEN THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED INTO THE AIR AT APPROXIMATELY A 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND MADE A SHARP RIGHT TURN. THE AIRCRAFT PASSED OVER THE MAIN PART OF THE TERMINAL BUILDING, STALLING AND STRIKING THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE ROOF. THE AIRCRAFT WAS INVERTED WHEN IT CONTACTED THE BUILDING AND LANDED UPRIGHT, NOSE DOWN, WITH THE TAIL STUCK IN A TREE LIMB.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05FA178](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05FA178), Jul 6, 2005: Piper PA-34-220T (N902J), Norman, OK, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airspeed, which resulted in an inadvertent stall/spin. A contributing factor was the pilot's attempted aborted landing following a hard landing and propeller strike.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
