## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE HELICOPTER WAS ON AN ALLIGATOR NESTING SURVEY FLIGHT, WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMISSION, WHEN IT BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. A FORCED LANDING WAS MADE AND HELP ARRIVED 18 HOURS LATER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE HELICOPTER WAS BROUGHT BACK TO LAKELAND AIRPORT AND SUBSEQUENTLY INSPECTED BY ^PRIVACY DA^, AN AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR AT THE ORLANDO FSDO. HE SUGGESTED THAT A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR FOR THE FORCED LANDING MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE FAILURE OF THE TURBO UNIT. HOWEVER, A FINAL DECISION IS STILL PENDING AT THIS TIME.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
