## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ACCORDING TO WITNESSES THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DA^ WAS FLYING WEST TO EAST OVER DRY CREEK GOLF COURSE AND IT APPEARED HE WAS HAVING ENGINE PROBLEMS AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE ENGINE. WITNESSES WATCHED THE TWO PLACE ULTRALITE, WITH THE PROP NOT ROTATING, BANK TO THE NORTH THEN CIRLE AROUND BACK SOUTH WHEN IT APPEARED THE PILOT LOST CONTROL AND NOSE DIVED INTO THE GROUND. THE NTSB HAS DETERMINED THIS AS AN ACCIDENT BASED ON THE FACT THAT THE PILOT DID NOT HAVE AN EXEMPTION WITH AN INSTRUCTORS ENDORSEMENT TO OPERATE A TWO PLACE ULTRALITE, THEREFORE THE AIRCRAFT IS CLASSED AS AN UNREGISTERED AIRCRAFT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
