## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING LANDING AT RUNWAY 27 MAPLE GROVE AIRPORT (65G), FOWLERVILLE, MI, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY D^ STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN VEERING TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. HE ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT AND WHEN HE REALIZED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO RECOVER THE AIRCRAFT IN TIME TO COMPLETE THE LANDING, HE APPLIED POWER TO PERFORM A GO-AROUND. AT THAT TIME, THE MAIN LANDING GEAR HIT THE CORN STALKS, WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO SLOW, AND THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED INTO THE CORN AND WENT UP ON IT'S NOSE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO BE LIMITED TO THE ENGINE COWLING, PROPELLER, LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR STRUT AND BUNGEES, AND LEFT FRONT LIFT STRUT. DURING INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT, IT WAS NOTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT REGISTRATION NUMBERS WERE TAPED ON THE INSIDE OF THE REAR WINDOWS, AND NOT INSTALLED AS REQUIRED PER 14 CFR 45.23. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ NOTE: AIRCRAFT TOTAL TIME IS UNKNOWN, TIME GIVEN IN BLOCK 13 IS AIRCRAFT TACH TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
