## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRMAN DEPARTED THE ANOKA COUNTY AIRPORT (KANE) FOR THE PURPOSES OF FLIGHT TESTING HIS ENGINE THAT HAS SOME RECENT WORK COMPLETED ON IT. HE INTENDED TO REMAIN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AT KANE WHILE TESTING HIS ENGINE. WHILE ON DOWNWIND FOR RUNWAY 09 FOR HIS FIRST LANDING, THE ENGINE "MISSED" AND THE PILOT NOTICED THAT HIS GAS GAUGE INDICATED THAT HE HAD VERY LITTLE FUEL REMAINING IN THE FUEL TANK. THE PILOT BEGAN TURNING TOWARDS THE RUNWAY FOR LANDING AND ALSO INFORMED ATC THAT HE NEEDED TO LAND IMMEDIATELY DUE TO BEING FUEL CRITICAL. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AND WHILE IT WAS EXITING THE RUNWAY ON THE TAXIWAY, THE ENGINE STOPPED DUE TO FUEL EXHAUSTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
