## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FLIGHT FROM OSHKOSH, WI TO CANADA, AIRCRAFT LOST POWER AND PILOT LANDED IN NATIONAL FORREST (FIELD). ON SCENE INVESTIGATION IDENTIFIED NO FUEL IN WING TANKS AND ONLY ONE HALF CUP IN GASCOLATOR. PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD FULL TANKS WHEN HE DEPARTED OSHKOSH, WI. AND HAD FLOWN FOR 2 HOURS AND 50 MINUTES WHEN ENGINE QUIT. AIRCRAFT OWNER'S MANUAL INDICATED THAT ENGINE SHOULD HAVE RAN FOR 4 HOURS. PILOT'S DESCRIPTION OF LEANING PROCEDURE HE USED ON THIS FLIGHT AND COLOR OF EXHAUST STACK, INDICATES THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE CARBURETOR PROBLEM, RESULTING IN RICHER THAN NORMAL MIXTURE. AIRCRAFT WINGS WERE REMOVED AND AIRCRAFT TRANSPORTED TO LOCAL AIRPORT FOR ASSEMBLY AND RETURN FLIGHT TO CANADA. NO FURTHER ACTIONS PLANNED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
