## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 28, 2005 AT APPROXIMATELY 1145 MDT, A CESSNA 180, N90RW WAS TAKING OFF ON RUNWAY 16 AT MYL WITH WINDS OF 7 KNOTS FROM 090 DEGREES AS PER AWOS WITH A SQUAL LINE APPROACHING THE AIRPORT. DURING HIS TAKE-OFF RUN, A GUST OF WIND CAUGHT THE AIRCRAFT AND THE PILOT COULD NOT COUNTER ACT IT WITH THE CONTROLS. THE AIRPLANE, TIPPED UP AND DAMAGED THE RIGHT WING, COLLAPSED THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR, CAUSED A PROP STRIKE AND DAMAGED THE ENGINE MOUNTS AND TWISTED THE CABIN AREA WING ATTACH POINTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05CA152](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05CA152), Jul 28, 2005: Cessna 180 (N90RW), McCall, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for wind and his failure to maintain directional control. A factor was the crosswind.

## Other reports on N90RW (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 20120913029209A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20120913029209A), Sep 13, 2012: Cessna 180 (N90RW), Nampa, ID, Destroyed. Aircraft N90RW was departing Nampa, ID, municipal airport with a CFI and student onboard when it crashed just off the right side of runway 29.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
