## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FOLLOWING THE DEMONSTRATION OF A SOFT FIELD LANDING ON THE GRASS RUNWAY A TAKE OFF WAS INITIATED. DURING THE TAKE OFF THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL STRUCK A MARKER PYLON FOR THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD. THE INSTRUCTOR STATED THAT A CLIMB WAS STABILIZED AT THE BEST ANGLE OF CLIMB SPEED AND DURING THE CLIMB HE HEARD THE STALL WARNING HORN. HE ATTEMPTED TO INCREASE THE AIRSPEED BY LOWERING THE NOSE. SUBSEQUENTLY THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK AND SETTLED INTO THE TREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI05CA205](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI05CA205), Jul 28, 2005: Piper PA-28-151 (N602EA), Holland, MI, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed which resulted in a stall, and subsequent collision with trees. Contributing to the accident were the trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
