## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT HAD FLOWN AT ALTITUDE FROM AUBURN (AUN), CA, TO SHELTER COVE (0Q5), CA. THE PILOT HAD LEANED THE FUEL MIXTURE WHILE ENROUTE. UPON DESCENT FROM ALTITUDE, HE DID NOT ENRICH THE FUEL MIXTURE. THE APPROACH WAS LONG AND THE PILOT APPLIED POWER TO INITIATE A GO-AROUND. WHEN HE APPLIED POWER, THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND AND THE AIRCRAFT DROPPED TO THE SURFACE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX05CA252](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX05CA252), Aug 1, 2005: Beech 35-A33 (N375Z), Shelter Cove, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during an attempted go around, which resulted in a stall/mush and collision with the ground.

## Other reports on N375Z (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19950313021259I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19950313021259I), Mar 13, 1995: Beech 35A33 (N375Z), Billings, MT, Minor damage. Forgot to extend gear for landing. Landed gear up. Prior reexam for pilot skill and misjudgment.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
