## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MULTI-ENGINE INSTRUCTION/SIMULATED LEFT ENGINE INOP, APPROACH TO LANDING: INSTRUCTOR/PILOT STATED THAT STUDENT DIDN'T PUT LANDING GEAR DOWN UNTIL ON FINAL APPROACH AND JUST BEFORE TOUCHDOWN. HE HAD MAIN GEAR LIGHTS, BUT NO NOSE GEAR DOWN LIGHT. INSTRUCTOR THEN APPLIED POWER TO RIGHT ENGINE ONLY FOR A GO-AROUND, BUT WAS HAVING DIRECTION CONTROL PROBLEM WITH AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY (BRAKES ON LEFT SIDE ONLY). INSTRUCTOR ALSO STATED THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE THE LEFT BOOST PUMP ON. ON GO-AROUND ATTEMPT, AIRCRAFT WENT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY AND THEN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. IT APPEARED THAT ALL THREE GEAR WAS DOWN ON LANDING, BUT COULDN'T CONFIRM NOSE GEAR WAS LOCKED DOWN BEFORE IT COLLAPSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
