## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SATURDAY, 08/06/2005, AT APPROXIMATELY 1100 HOURS, N2422G, A CESSNA 182-B, SERIAL NUMBER 51722, OPERATED BY LONG ISLAND SKYDIVING CENTER, INC. AT SPADARO'S AIRPORT (1N2) LANDED LONG ON RUNWAY 18, AND CRASHED INTO THE AIRPORT FENCE AT THE MONTAUK HIGHWAY (SOUTH) SIDE OF THE FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PIC OR OCCUPANTS. INITIAL INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE PIC, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOOK OFF FROM RUNWAY 36 WITH FOUR PARACHUTER OCCUPANTS. AFTER TAKEOFF THE ENGINE STARTED TO RUN ROUGH AND POSSIBLY WANTED TO STOP RUNNING. THE PIC THEN ELECTED TO MAKE A LEFT 180 DEGREE TURN BACK TO THE AIRPORT. AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE WANTED TO STOP RUNNING AGAIN. THE PIC LANDED LONG ON RUNWAY 18, APPROXIMATELY 1/3 DOWN THE RUNWAY AND TRIED TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE RUNNING OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
