## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) SUBSEQUENT TO AN OTHERWISE NORMAL APPROACH, THE AIRMAN CONDUCTED A NORMAL LANDING, AND UPON INITIAL TOUCHDOWN, BEGAN APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES. THE AIRCRAFT SKIPPED BRIEFLY FROM A SMALL RISE IN THE RUNWAY, AND UPON SUBSEQUENT TOUCHDOWN, THE BRAKES HAVING ALREADY BEEN APPLIED, LOCKED THE WHEELS SUCH THAT THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A HARD STOP, NOSING OVER BEFORE THE AIRMAN COULD AVERT IT. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST INVERTED, SUSTAINING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THERE WAS NO POST ACCIDENT FIRE, AND THE PILOT AND PASSENGER EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05CA166](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05CA166), Aug 7, 2005: Luscombe 8A (N2094K), Otis Orchards, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control as a result of excessive braking while landing, which resulted in the nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
