## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE AIRCRAFT LANDING AT VNY AIRPORT CA, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. AFTER OCCUPANTS HAD EVACUATED THE AIRCRAFT, AND WHILE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVING AT THE SCENE, A SMALL FIRE ERUPTED DUE TO THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSING, DAMAGING FUEL SYSTEM, AND CAUSING A FUEL LEAK BY HOT EXHAUST SYSTEM. FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED IMMEDIATELY WHILE CONTAINED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND INSPECTION REVEALED SEPARATING CRACK IN THE NOSE GEAR WHEEL WELL AREA AT THE NOSE GEAR UPPER ATTACHMENT AREA AS WELL AS THE ACTUATOR ATTACHMENT POINT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
