## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 8/13/2005 AT 22:54 EDST AN AIRBUS A-300 OPERATED BY FDEA (FLT 1685) WHILE AT CRUISE "GOT ECAM #1 OIL FILTER CLOG." THE CREW FOLLOWED ECAM AND IDLED POWER FOR 3 MINUTES, THEN SHUT DOWN ENGINE. ENGINE WINDMILLED FOR 50 MINUTES. THE CREW DIVERTED TO SYR AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 10. THE ARFF RESPONDED AND THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO PARKING WITHOUT INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE CHANGED THE ENGINE DUE TO VIBRATIONS AT IDLE AFTER OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT. ALL OPS AND LEAK CHECKS WERE GOOD AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
