## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AS PER PILOT'S STATEMENT - "AT APPROX. 11:45 AM LOCAL TIME, PILOT WAS DIRECTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, OWNER, TO SPRAY A 100 ACRE FIELD APPROX. 3 MILES TO THE WEST OF OUR AIRSTRIP. I THEN LOADED 250 GALS OF WATER MIXED WITH ORTHENE, AN INSECTICIDE INTO THE GRUMMAN AG N6903K, AND AFTER PERFORMING ALL STANDARD PREFLIGHT CHECKS, ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OFF TO THE NORTH. AT THE DP OR HALFWAY POINT DOWN THE RUNWAY ALL INSTRUMENTS WERE IN THE GREEN AND THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLYING. AT THE APPROX. 3/4 POINT IN THE RUNWAY PILOT HAD ENOUGH AIRSPEED TO FLY AND LIFTED OFF THE RUNWAY. SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND FOR REASONS UNKNOWN TO THE PILOT, THE AIRCRAFT REFUSED TO LIFT OUT OF GROUND EFFECT, STALLED, MADE A 90 DEGREE TURN TO THE RIGHT AND WENT SIDEWAYS INTO THE COTTON FIELD. THE ENGINE WAS MAKING POWER, BUT THE AIRCRAFT JUST SEEMED TO SLOW DOWN FOR NO APPARENT REASON.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05CA212](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05CA212), Aug 16, 2005: Grumman G164B (N6903K), Alexandria, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed which resulted in a stall. A contributing factor was the high density altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
