## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FRIDAY AUGUST 19TH AT ABOUT 1:30 PM THE PILOT AND SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS SEEDING OATS AND TURNIP SEEDS ON THE EAST SIDE OF ST. ELMO, IL NORTH OF HIGHWAY 40. ON THE 4TH PASS TO THE SOUTH AND ON THE TURN-AROUND THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND STOPPED COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE PIC MADE AN OFF-AIRPORT LANDING IN A SOYBEAN FIELD. THE PIC EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED IN ANY WAY. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
