## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 08/19/05, AT APPROXIMATELY 1900 CDT, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DAT^ A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WAS GIVING DUAL INSTRUCTION, FOR A TAILWHEEL ENDORSEMENT, TO A PRIVATE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ AT THE BOSCOBEL AIRPORT. THEY WERE LANDING ON RUNWAY 20. THE AIRPLANE STARTED A LEFT TURN TOWARDS THE GRASS. AT ABOUT 15 MILES POWER HOUR, THE RIGHT GEAR FOLDED UNDER THE AIRPLANE AND PUSHED IT UP ABOUT 5 FEET, AND THEN FELL ON THE WING TIP. THIS CAUSED THE RIGHT WING AND PROP TO BE BENT. THE AIRCRAFT ENDED UP ON THE GRASS. AFTER THE ACCIDENT THE PILOT FOUND THAT THE RIGHT FRONT LANDING GEAR ATTACH BOLT BROKE. PART OF THE BOLT WAS IN THE BUSHING AND THE REST OF THE BOLT WAS MISSING. THE WIND AT THE TIME WAS LIGHT AND VARIABLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI05CA240](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI05CA240), Aug 20, 2005: Piper PA-12 (N425AH), Boscobel, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The separation of the right main landing gear attachment bracket bolt during the landing and the pilot's aircraft control not possible with the collapsed gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
