## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT TAXIED UPSTREAM TO A POINT WHERE HE JUDGED HE WOULD HAVE SUFFICIENT AREA FOR TAKEOFF, AND BEGAN THE TAKEOFF RUN. THE AIRPLANE HAD NOT REACHED FLYING SPEED AT THE PILOT'S PRE-COMPUTED GO/NO GO POINT BUT HE ELECTED TO CONTINUE BECAUSE THE AIRSPEED AT THAT POINT WAS CLOSE TO TARGET AND HE FELT THE AIRCRAFT WOULD FLY. BEFORE ACHIEVING FLYING SPEED A BEND IN THE RIVER WAS ENCOUNTERED. THE PILOT MAINTAINED POWER AND ATTEMPTED A STEP TURN TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRPLANE SKIPPED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE TURN AND THE LEFT WING STRUCK VEGETATION ON THE RIVER BANK. THE AIRCRAFT THEN YAWED INTO THE BANK AND HALF ROLLED TO A STOP ON THE GROUND.
