## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 28, 2005, AT APPROXIMATELY 1300 CDT, THE PILOT OF N108LA, A BISSONETTE RILEY F, MODEL LANCAIR 235 AIRCRAFT, INITIATED AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING WHEN THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE FAILED TO OPERATE AFTER THE FUEL SELECTOR WAS SWITCHED TO THE RIGHT TANK POSITION. THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT APPROXIMATELY ONE-HALF MILE SOUTHWEST OF RUNWAY 35 AT TRADEWIND AIRPORT (TDW) LOCATED IN AMARILLO, TEXAS. THE PILOT IN COMMAND WAS NOT INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LOWER ENGINE COWLING, PROPELLER SPINNER AND THE MAIN LANDING GEAR OVER CENTER LINK AT SHEAR OFF DURING THE LANDING. VMC CONDITIONS PREVAILED AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED FOR THE TITLE 14 CFR PART 91 FLIGHT, WHICH ORIGINATED FROM TDW.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
