## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 08/27/05 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:30 PDT, DURING LANDING ROLL-OUT ON RUNWAY 35 AT CHILOQUIN STATE (2S7), N11661 LOST CONTROL CAUSING THE LEFT WING TO STRIKE THE RUNWAY LEADING TO THE LEFT MAIN GEAR SEPARATING FROM THE FUSELAGE. UPON EXAMINING THE WRECKAGE, THE TAILWHEELS LEFT CONNECTOR CHAIN BROKE OFF THE TOP OF COMPRESSION SPRING. NOTE: AMENDMENT COMING AWAITING BLOCK 31 INFORMATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05CA183](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05CA183), Aug 27, 2005: Bellanca 7KCAB (N11661), Chiloquin, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the left chain link which permits the pilot to control the tailwheel, and the subsequent inability of the pilot to control the airplane during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
