## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WITNESSES STATED PILOT TOUCHED DOWN AT MID-FIELD ON RUNWAY 1 AT N07, AND WENT OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT STATED HE "FELT THE A/C DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH BRAKING POWER." THE A/C CAME TO REST ON JACKSONVILLE ROAD, 137 FEET TO THE LEFT OF THE CENTERLINE. SKID MARKS WERE NOTED 703 FEET FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY. TWO PASSENGERS ON BOARD RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES AND WERE TAKEN TO MORRISTOWN HOSPITAL AND RELEASED. AIRMAN INTERVIEWED ON 09/07/05 ADMITTED LANDING TOO FAR DOWN THE RUNWAY. TWO WITNESSES SUPPORT THIS ESTIMATE. CIRRUS FACTORY SAFETY INVESTIGATOR AND FSDO AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTOR THOROUGHLY CHECKED BRAKE SYSEM (TEAR DOWN) AND FOUND NO ABNORMALITIES, JUST "FLAT SPOTTED" TIRES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB IAD05CA131](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/IAD05CA131), Sep 5, 2005: Cirrus Design SR22 (N209SL), Lincoln Park, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to obtain the proper touchdown point during landing which resulted in a runway overrun. A factor was the pilot's misjudgment of speed/distance during the approach.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
