## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) CESSNA 310, N75SM SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO ITS RIGHT WING, PROPELLER, RIGHT MAIN GEAR AND HORIZONTAL STABILIZER AFTER THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED DURING A LANDING ON RUNWAY 25 AT THE BOSCOBEL AIRPORT, BOSCOBEL WISCONSIN ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2005. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND AND SOLE OCCUPANT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS NOT INJURED. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA O^ REPORTED THAT AFTER DEPARTING RUNWAY 25 FOR C81, THE DOOR SEAL POPPED. HE STATED HE CAME BACK AROUND TO LAND ON RUNWAY 25 TO TAKE CARE OF THE DOOR PROBLEM. HE REPORTED THAT ON TOUCHDOWN, THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED. MILWAUKEE FSDO PERSONNEL DURING AN ON-SCENE INVESTIGATION ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2005 FOUND THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD TOUCHED DOWN APPROXIMATELY 30 PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE RUNWAY AND THAT THE GEAR COLLAPSED AFTER IT HIT THE LIP AT THE RUNWAY EDGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI05CA262](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI05CA262), Sep 9, 2005: Cessna 310Q (N75SM), Boscobel, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudged distance/altitude which resulted in an undershoot. A related factor was the pilot's diverted attention due to the open cabin door.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
