## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED THAT SHE MADE A "REAL HARD LANDING" ON THE UP-SLOPED TURF RUNWAY AT LOVE FIELD (97FL), A PRIVATE COMMUNITY AIRPARK LOCATED IN WEIRSDALE, FL. THE PILOT ABORTED THE LANDING AND SUBSEQUENTLY RADIOED SOMEONE ON THE GROUND TO DETERMINE IF THE NOSE GEAR HAD SUSTAINED DAMAGE. AFTER AN OBSERVER CONFIRMED THAT THE GEAR WAS DAMAGED BUT STILL ATTACHED, THE PILOT AND HER PILOT-RATED PASSENGER/HUSBAND THEN ELECTED TO DIVERT TO NEARBY LEESBURG AIRPORT (LEE) TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON THE PAVED RUNWAY THERE. POST-MISHAP EXAMINATION OF THE VANS RV6-A AIRPLANE REVEALED THAT THE NOSE GEAR HAD BEEN BENT AFT AND TOWARD THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE. DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO THE NOSE LANDING GEAR AND PROPELLER. NO EVIDENCE OF AIRCRAFT STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS FOUND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
