## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE VFR FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA, WITH THE PILOT BEING THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF N42619, WITH A PLANNED DESTINATION OF DECATURE GAGE AIRPORT, DECATUR, INDIANA. THE PILOT CHOSE TO MAKE A DOWNWIND LANDING TO THE NORTH ON THE SLOPED SOD RUNWAY, AFTER OBSERVING LIGHT WINDS ON THE AIRPORT SURFACE. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED AFTER A MID-FIELD TOUCHDOWN AND THE AIRMAN WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL DURING THE LANDING ROLL. THE AIRCRAFT MADE CONTACT WITH THE ADJACENT HANGAR SUPPORT POSTS, THE TAIL SECTION OF A HANGARED ULTRALIGHT AIRCRAFT, AND A STORED VEHICLE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET NORTH OF THE HANGAR STRUCTURE. BOTH WINGS, AND THE FUSELAGE RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.
