## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS COMPLETING ILS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 13. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED RUNWAY (RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR) APPROXIMATELY SEVENTEEN FEET TO THE LEFT OF CENTERLINE APPROX ONE THOUSAND FEET FROM THRESHOLD. LEFT MAIN GEAR CONTACTED RUNWAY TWENTY-THREE FEET BEYOND THE POINT WHERE RIGHT MAIN GEAR CONTACTED. NOSEWHEEL CONTACTED RUNWAY FORTY-EIGHT FEET BEYOND POINT WHERE RIGHT MAIN GEAR CONTACTED RUNWAY. THESE OBSERVATIONS BASED ON DISTINCT SKIDMARKS ON RUNWAY THAT ARE CONSISTENT WITH DAMAGE. AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN IN NOSE HIGH, RIGHT WING LOW ATTITUDE AT POINT OF FIRST CONTACT, SUGGESTING UNSTABLE ATTITUDE AND UNCONTROLLED SINK RATE. WEATHER AT THE TIME WAS ONE HUNDRED FEET OVERCAST WITH ONE QUARTER MILE VISIBILITY. THIS WAS THE SECOND APPROACH AS FIRST APPROACH RESULTED IN MISSED APPROACH. PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD LANDED NORMALLY, BUT LOST CONTROL AND BECAME AIRBORNE AFTER HE BELIEVED THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR TIRE HAD BLOWN. THIS ASSERTION COULD NOT BE VERIFIED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC05LA142](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC05LA142), Sep 15, 2005: Raytheon BE-390 (N701DF), Rockland, ME, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain aircraft control during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
