## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING AN ACROBATIC TRAINING FLIGHT, IN A CLIMB AT APPROX. 2300' THE CANOPY BROKE UP AND WITH NO FURTHER RADIO OR CONTROLS RESPONSE FROM THE PILOT, THE AIRCRAFT THEN SLOW ROLLED TO THE RIGHT AND NOSED OVER WITH ENGINE STILL AT CLIMB POWER AND IMPACTED THE GROUND AT A 60 DEGREE PITCH ATTITUDE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05FA242](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05FA242), Sep 18, 2005: Akro Tech Aviation Inc. Giles G-300 (N300NW), Yukon, OK, destroyed, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The catastrophic separation of the canopy as result of the failure of the forward canopy hinge while performing aerobatics and the subsequent incapacitation of the pilot.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
