## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DEPARTED TO THE SOUTH WITH 4 PAX AND FULL FUEL. RUNWAY IS 4000' AND IT WAS HOT. PIC STATED THAT IT WOULD NOT CLIMB AT RECOMMENDED AIRSPEED AND THAT THE RIGHT WING BEGAN TO STALL, HE LOWERED THE NOSE TO RETAIN AIRSPEED AND WAS UNABLE TO CLIMB AND CRASHED WITHIN 1/2 MILE OF THE END OF THE RUNWAY. REVIEW OF WEIGHT AND BALANCE REVEALED OPERATION AT MAX GROSS WEIGHT AND FORWARD CG OUT OF LIMITS OF AIRCRAFT FLIGHT MANUAL. (-23 AMENDMENT) REVIEW FLIGHT MANUAL INDICATED THAT PIC DID NOT COMPLY WITH AFM REQUIREMENTS FOR TAKEOFF FOR LIMITED RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW05CA247](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW05CA247), Sep 22, 2005: Smith, Ted Aerostar 601P (N909KF), Mexia, TX, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from the barn. Contributing factors were the pilot's inadequate preflight planning/preparation and the high-density altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
