## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2005, A CESSNA CE-550, N77ND, WAS CONDUCTING IN FLIGHT ICING TESTS AT 9,200 FEET MSL, 50 NM SOUTH WEST OF FT. YUKON, ALASKA. DURING THIS TEST, ICE WAS INGESTED INTO BOTH ENGINES CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF BOTH ENGINES SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE AIRCRAFT GLIDED TO A SMALL LANDING AREA AMONG SMALL TREES CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WINGS, TAIL AND NOSE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITH THE WHEELS UP AND SKIDDED APPROXIMATELY 140 YARDS UNTIL IT CAME TO REST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC05LA150](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC05LA150), Sep 30, 2005: Cessna 550 (N77ND), Ft Yukon, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper use of anti-icing equipment during cruise flight, which resulted in ice ingestion into both engines (foreign object damage), the complete loss of engine power in both engines,…

## Other reports on N77ND (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.
