## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 17 AT THE LINCOLN AIRPORT, LINCOLN, NEBRASKA WHEN HE STRUCK A WINDSOCK AND TWO AIRPORT SIGNS AND LANDED IN THE GRASS TO THE EAST OF THE RUNWAY. PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS NOT LINED UP PROPERLY AND TRIED TO SALVAGE THE LANDING WHEN VERY LOW. PILOT IMPACTED THE WINDSOCK POLE, WHICH IS 200 FEET EAST OF THE RUNWAY EDGE, 7 FEET HIGH, AND TOUCHED DOWN EAST OF A DRAINAGE DITCH TO THE SOUTHEAST OF THE WINDSOCK IN THE GRASS. HE THEN PROCEEDED SOUTHBOUND IN THE GRASS AND CLIPPED A TAXIWAY SIGN THAT IS NORTH OF TAXIWAY ECHO WITH THE RIGHT TRAILING EDGE FLAP CAUSING MINOR SCRAPES TO THE TOP OF THE SIGN. HE CONTINUED ACROSS TAXIWAY ECHO AND DESTROYED A RUNWAY HOLD-SHORT SIGN TO THE SOUTH OF TAXIWAY ECHO WITH HIS LEFT MAIN GEAR DOOR AND LEFT TRAILING EDGE FLAP. THE THEN TAXIED IN THE GRASS TO TAXIWAY KILO BEFORE ENTERING THE EAST RAMP. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE WINDSOCK STRUCK THE RIGHT LEADING EDGE OF THE WING AT THE WING ROOT. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO BOTH TRAILING EDGE FLAPS AND TO THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR DOOR FROM THE IMPACT WITH THE TWO AIRPORT SIGNS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR THE PASSENGER ON BOARD.^PRIVACY DATA^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
