## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATES THAT HE FORGOT TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR PRIOR TO LANDING HIS AERO COMMANDER 114 (AC114). HE PERFORMED LANDING CHECKLIST TO THE POINT THAT HE VERBALIZED TO HIMSELF "GEAR AND FLAPS TO GO." HE BECAME DISTRACTED LOOKING FOR, AND FOLLOWING, OTHER AIRCRAFT AND NEGLECTED TO COMPLETE THE CHECKLIST. THE LANDING GEAR WARNING HORN DID NOT SOUND UNTIL HE RETARDED THE POWER IN THE LANDING FLARE. PILOT ACCEPTS FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS INCIDENT. HE HAS BEEN COUNSELED REGARDING THE PROPER USE OF CHECKLISTS. HE IS COOPERATIVE AND NO FURTHER ACTION IS THOUGHT TO BE APPROPRIATE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
