## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT SELECTED LANDING GEAR DOWN WHILE ON A VISUAL APPROACH TO THE T.F. GREEN AIRPORT, PROVIDENCE, RI. THE GEAR CIRCUIT BREAKER POPPED AND THE GEAR DID NOT EXTEND. THE PILOT FAILED TO ENSURE THAT THE GEAR WAS EXTENDED. THE AIRPLANE LANDED GEAR UP. A & P MECHANIC WORKING ON REPAIRING THE AIRPLANE STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC GEAR MOTOR WORKED IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY. THE GEAR WOULD RETRACT BUT WOULD NOT EXTEND USING THE ELECTRIC GEAR MOTOR. THE ELECTRIC GEAR MOTOR HAS BEEN SENT TO A REPAIR STATION FOR REPAIR AND RETURN TO SERVICE. IT IS YET TO BE DETERMINED WHETHER THE GEAR MOTOR FAILED DUE TO RIGGING PROBLEMS OR ELECTRIC GEAR MOTOR PROBLEMS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC06CA053](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC06CA053), Oct 3, 2005: Beech E-55 (N72BG), Providence, RI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to verify landing gear extension after a landing gear malfunction, which resulted in a wheels up landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
