## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) 19:25, PST, GULFSTREAM G-2, RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR TIRE BLEW ON LANDING, 28R, SFO. THE RIGHT MAIN WHEEL APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN LOCKED UP, CAUSING THE TIRE TO BLOW. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT OPEN TOUCHDOWN, HE FELT A SLIGHT DRAG TO THE RIGHT, BUT NO OTHER ABNORMAL INDICATION. A SMALL FIRE ERUPTED IN THE RIGHT WHEEL WELL. FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED OFF RUNWAY. NO INJURIES. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DISCOVERED TWO DISCREPANCIES: 1. IMPROPER RIGGING OF PUSH PULL RODS (REVERSED) THAT CONTROL THE ANTI ROTATION VALVE IN THE RIGHT WHEEL WELL. THE REVERSAL OF THE PUSH PULL RODS DOES EFFECT THE THROW TO THE ANTI ROTATION VALVE LINKAGE. 2. THE BOLT THAT ATTACHED THE CONTROL ROD ENDS, WAS FOUND NOT SAFETY WIRED AND NOT ENGAGING IT'S RIVNUT, BUT STILL IN PLACE. AT THIS TIME THE PRINCIPAL MAINTENANCE INSPECTOR FOR THE AIR CARRIER IS INVESTIGATING THE REPAIR STATION THAT LAST WORKED IN THE RIGHT WHEEL WELL AREA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
