## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW06LA007](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW06LA007), Oct 16, 2005: Cessna 140 (N72901), Big Flat, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power for undetermined reasons. A contributing factor was the lack of suitable terrain for a forced landing.

## Other reports on N72901 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19820115001129A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820115001129A), Jan 15, 1982: Cessna 140 (N72901), Spokane, WA, Substantial damage. Engine quit after takeoff. Pilot made emergency landing straight ahead but aircraft flipped inverted.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
