## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 10/17/2005 THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ WAS FLYING FROM HILLSBORO, OREGON (HIO) TO FRIDAY HARBOR, WA (W33) AT 1400' AGL WHEN HE EXPERIENCED A SMOOTH STEADY TOTAL POWER LOSS. ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE ENGINE FAILED. THE PILOT SELECTED A GRAVEL ROAD AND ADJACENT FIELD FOR LANDING. A LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION APPEARS TO HAVE IDENTIFIED A LOOSE FUEL PUMP SUPPLY HOSE AS THE SOURCE OF FUEL LOSS. THE ENGINE FUEL PUMP AND ASSOCIATED HOSES WERE REPLACED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN OUT WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT ON 10/20/2005.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
