## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT CRASHED INTO PARKED VEHICLE, INJURING MAN INSIDE. PILOT REPORTED BRAKES HAD LOCKED WHEN APPLIED AFTER TOUCHDOWN. INSPECTION OF BRAKES REVEALED THAT AT NO TIME THE BRAKES HAD EVER LOCKED UP. INSPECTION ALSO REVEALED THAT THE LEFT BRAKE DISC WAS WORN. RECORDS SHOW THAT LEFT BRAKE LINNINGS WERE CHANGED, HOWEVER DISC WAS NOT. SEVERAL WITNESSES REPORTED THAT THE PILOT CAME IN TOO FAST AND LANDED LONG. PILOT STATED THAT HE SHUT DOWN ENGINE POWER AND HAD NO CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT. AS A RESULT THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED INTO VEHICLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX06CA013](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX06CA013), Oct 19, 2005: Piper PA-23-160 (N4252P), Upland, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
