## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT RETURNED FROM (GYY) TO GAITHERSBURG (GAI). THE WEATHER WAS IFR AND THE PILOT MISSED THE APPROACH. PILOT STATED, ON HIS SECOND APPROACH HE PUT THE GEAR LEVER IN THE DOWN POSITION AND DROPPED ONE NOTCH OF FLAPS. THE AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR DID NOT EXTEND AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON ITS BELLY. THE PILOT STATED AT THE INTERVIEW THAT HE DID NOT REMEMBER IF HE LOOKED AT THE GEAR SAFE LIGHT OR NOT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR PASSENGER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
