## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND RUNWAY 36 AT THE CUBA AIRPORT, THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE RUNWAY. INITIAL LANDING SEGMENT WAS RELATIVELY SMOOTH. AT JUST PAST MIDWAY ON THE RUNWAY DURING ROLLOUT AS THE AIRCRAFT DECELERATED WITH NO USE OF THE BRAKES-SUDDENLY THE LEFT WING CAME UP AND THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT NO AMOUNT OF AILERONS OR RUDDER INPUT SEEMED TO HELP OVERCOME THIS CONDITION AND THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST WITH THE NOSE AND LEFT WING IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT: LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR BROKEN OFF, ENGINE FIREWALL LOWER SEGMENT DAMAGED, FORWARD LOWER FUSELAGE DAMAGED, PROPELLER DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI06CA017](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI06CA017), Oct 26, 2005: Bellanca 7ECA (N5065N), Cuba, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
