(-23) AIRCRAFT N5LE DEPARTED MAURY CO AIRPORT (MRC) ON A VFR FLIGHT IN VMC TO NASHVILLE, TN, LANDING AT JOHN TUNE AIRPORT (JWN). UPON ARRIVAL AT JWN A LOW LAYER OF MORNING FOG LAY UPON THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT, AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO PENETRATE THIS LOW LAYER, MANAGED TO TOUCHDOWN ON THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE INITIATED THE FINAL APPROACH TOO HIGH AND WAS FASTER THAN NORMAL. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN BEYOND THE HALFWAY POINT. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT BEFORE LEAVING THE PAVED SURFACE. THE AIRCRAFT THEN PROCEEDED ANOTHER 700 FEET TO WHERE THE RIGHT WING TIP CONTACTED THE ILS ANTENNAS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
