## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS INTENDING TO TAXI TO THE FUELING AREA TO PURCHASE FUEL PRIOR TO HIS DEPARTURE. JUST PRIOR TO TAXIING, THE PILOT LOOKED TO HIS LEFT TO SEE IF ANOTHER AIRCRAFT WAS COMING. HE THEN LOOKED OVER HIS RIGHT SHOULDER TO SEE IF ANY OTHER OF HIS FRIENDS HAD LEFT YET, AND HE THEN STARTED TO TAXI OUT ONTO THE TAXIWAY. HE DIDN'T GET VERY FAR IN THE TURN BEFORE HE FELT HIS AIRCRAFT LURCH AND LIFT UP. HE NOW REALIZED THAT HE WAS IN A COLLISION WITH ANOTHER AIRCRAFT. THE TAXIWAY TAKES A 90 DEGREE LEFT TURN JUST ONE PARKING SPACE DOWN TO THE LEFT OF HIS AIRCRAFT. THE ONCOMING AIRCRAFT CAME AROUND THE CORNER JUST AFTER THE PILOT HAD LOOKED IN THAT DIRECTION. THE VIEW OF THE ONCOMING AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO COMING AROUND THE CORNER WAS BLOCKED BY THE AIRCRAFT PARKED TO HIS LEFT AND THE AIRCRAFT PARKED BEHIND IT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
