## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PIC WAS ON THE APPROACH AND THE DOWN WIND LEG OF THE RYN TRAFFIC PATTERN @ 800 FT AGL WHEN THE R/H HORIZONTAL STABILIZER FLYING WIRE BRACKET/BOLT FAILED. THE CIP DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, CONTINUED CAUTIOUSLY AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY ON RUNWAY 06. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR POST EVENT FIRE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS THEN TAXIED NORMALLY TO THE HANGER WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX06CA027](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX06CA027), Nov 4, 2005: Lee Kolb Mark III Classic (N515AB), Tucson, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: the fatigue failure of the attachment that secured the horizontal stabilizer to the fuselage.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
